A man has been charged after an attempted carjacking using scissors in the Sutherland Shire area of ​​Sydney.
The incident happened on Croydon Street in Cronulla, at around 3.15pm.
When police arrived, they were told a man had demanded keys from two people in a car before fleeing the scene. A short time later, police arrested a 20-year-old man and during a search, a pair of scissors were found. Police said no one was injured.
The 20-year-old man was taken to Sutherland Police Station where he was charged with a series of offences.
They include aggravated assault with intent to take a motor vehicle while armed with a weapon, possession of an offensive instrument in a public place and behaving in a public place near a school.
He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court.
