Reports indicate that the revised plan, which includes building a new 60,000-seat stadium, will reshape a significant portion of the infrastructure announced two years ago, costing $4.4 billion.

Queensland Premier David Crisafulli told reporters ahead of the official announcement of the new plan, “I believe we now have a plan capable of putting things back on track.” He added, “It’s a plan aimed at providing sustainable infrastructure for generations to come, and a plan to host an exceptional Olympics when the world’s eyes are on us.”

He went on to say, “Even the harshest critics will admit, when looking at the current situation, that the past three years have been filled with chaos and challenges since we were awarded the right to host the Games.”

It is worth noting that the capital of Queensland won the honor of hosting the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games in July 2021, bringing the Olympics back to Australia for the third time, after Melbourne 1956 and Sydney 2000.

According to “The Courier Mail” newspaper, 6 out of 14 sites planned for use in the Brisbane Games will be modified or canceled. The new plan is expected to include the construction of a new 60,000-seat stadium in “Victoria Park” in the city center. The federal government had previously pledged to fund a large portion of the Games’ infrastructure.
