Australia has secured a hard-fought victory in the 2025 FIM Oceania Women’s Motocross Cup, held in Wonthaggi on March 22-23, overcoming a determined United States of America team. The intense competition, a highlight of the weekend, saw Charli Cannon lead Team Australia to a narrow triumph, retaining the title they first captured in 2024.
The event, marked by its nail-biting tension, showcased exceptional skill and determination from both teams. After a series of closely contested races, Australia emerged victorious by a mere 2 points, finishing with 77 points compared to the USA’s 79. This dramatic finish underscored the high level of competition and the resilience of both teams.
Team New Zealand (174 points) and Team Africa (243 points) completed the standings, finishing third and fourth, respectively, in the expanded FIM Oceania Women’s Motocross Cup. The event, held under ideal Victorian weather conditions, took place alongside the opening round of the 2025 Penrite ProMX Championship presented by AMX Superstores.
The final results were determined by the best 14 race finishes from each team, with the lowest score discarded.
Final Standings:
- Australia: 77 points
- USA: 79 points
- New Zealand: 174 points
- Africa: 243 points
