Raed Abdul Kareem Abdul Jabbar, a shining name in the world of Iraqi and international basketball, began his athletic journey with Al-Talaba Club, representing its first team under the guidance of coach Khaled Najm.

He spent several seasons in the first division, standing out as a talented player with remarkable skills that captured attention. Later, he moved to Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya Club, which boasted a roster of excellent players led by coach Ghazi Talib.

With this team, Abdul Jabbar achieved his dream of winning the Iraqi Basketball League Shield, becoming one of the team’s key pillars of success.

Outstanding Achievements

Following his success with Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, Abdul Jabbar transitioned to Al-Karkh Club, where he continued his streak of excellence and secured the Iraqi Basketball League Shield once again.

Internationally, he represented the Iraqi national team in pivotal matches, including a notable game against Jordan, where the Iraqi team clinched first place.

Transition to Coaching

After a successful career as a player, Raed Abdul Kareem Abdul Jabbar decided to retire and pursue coaching.

He began his coaching career with the “Wisam Al-Majd” team, where he focused on building a strong foundation and developing young players.

There, he worked on refining his coaching skills and successfully led the Parramatta team to promotion to the first division, in addition to winning the Sydney Colleges Championship.

His ambitions didn’t stop there, as he traveled to Canada and the United States to acquire more expertise and modern coaching techniques.

Upon his return, he received an offer from Baniyas Club in the UAE, where he coached the team for an entire season, further enhancing his reputation as a coach capable of achieving outstanding results. Eventually, he decided to return to Australia to continue his coaching journey.
