Husband charged over Hamilton Island golf buggy crash that killed wife on honeymoon
A man has been charged after his wife died in a golf buggy crash during their honeymoon on Queensland’s Hamilton Island.
Newlyweds Marina Hanna and Robbie Morgan had travelled to the resort island after tying the knot at Doltone House in Sydney.
On June 20, the couple was riding in a golf buggy – the only vehicles allowed on the island – when it rolled.
Marina, 29, suffered critical injuries and died at the scene, police said at the time.
Her husband was not injured.
A 30-year-old man, confirmed to be Morgan, has now been charged over the deadly crash, Queensland Police said today.
“Following an extensive investigation, the man has since been charged with driving without due care and attention causing death, wearing of approved seatbelt by driver, wearing of approved seatbelt by passenger and using a mobile phone,” a statement said.
He is expected to appear before Proserpine Magistrates Court on December 5.
